“Before WICKED was formed, before the Glade was built, before Thomas entered the Maze, sun flares hit the earth and mankind fell to disease.

Mark and Trina were there when it happened, and they survived. But surviving the sun flares was easy compared to what came next. Now a disease of rage and lunacy races across the eastern United States, and there’s something suspicious about its origin. Worse yet, it’s mutating, and all evidence suggests that it will bring humanity to its knees.

Mark and Trina are convinced there’s a way to save those left living from descending into madness. And they’re determined to find it—if they can stay alive. Because in this new, devastated world, every life has a price. And to some, you’re worth more dead than alive.” –Goodreads

My Review:

Dasher has slain me again. His stories always leave me with aches in my heart and adrenaline rushing through my body. I read the Maze Runner series about two years ago. It has obviously taken me a long time to get to this book but I am kind if glad to revisit that word again. This book was so astonishing. James Dashner is one of the best writers I know. He is gifted. His stories, particularly this one, are so exciting and suspenseful.

I could never put it down. The book captivated my attention. For the past few days anytime I had free time I was reading this. It was so good. I don’t even know what to say about this book. Most things in this book that I want to talk about I can’t because it would be spoiling the story for anyone who hasn’t read it yet.

I think all the characters in this story are intriguing. Yes, they are a little stereotypical. An uncool teenage boy, the love of his life who doesn’t notice him till the apocalyptic catastrophe, and  an ex-military man. I still like them because I am one for cliches.

There are no chill moments in this book. I like it but at the same time, I don’t. They are always in some form of action that makes me excited and on the edge of my seat but I feel like we should have more chill moments. I think more people would like it if it had more chill moments.

This is a very good book. I loved it so much. I thought it was a fantastic read. I am upset that I  am nearing the end of the Maze Runner books. I am so glad to have this book to read. It was so amazing. I hope you liked my review. It is kind of short but I don’t know what to say without spoiling anything so it is short.

Star Rating:4.8

Thanks for reading!
