I need to see more bloggers my age

So, I am having a difficult time.

Every time I go onto my reader, I see a lot of sappy romance novel reviews and an unnecessary amount of children’s books.

Don’t get me wrong, I do not think that these are bad topics. I think that everyone has their niche. My niche is writing book reviews about books that were published years ago so I get no clout. But, I want to READ reviews and such by people my age and who are interested in the same things.

I am following people who do post that but it is usually drowned out by the stuff I listed above. But, I do not want to unfollow these people who post sappy romance novels or children’s books because I know how hard it is to get followers and a lot of them have good content. I just don’t read them. They are more than likely (and I am sorry if I offend anyone) quite a few years older than me and do not read YA novels as much as I do. All these people I follow, which I follow a lot, post loads about books I don’t want to read or are not in my genre interest. But, I followed because I liked them at a time or they liked a post of mine and I checked out their stuff and I liked it.

Now, there are loads of people I followed like Taking on a World of Worlds and Bookiedote that I never see. So I have two dilemmas.

One, do I unfollow the other accounts that I do not want to see?

If it does not look like it is talking about something I want to read, I usually skip them. I don’t even click on them. I want to be more engaging but I am scrolling through the reader seeing all these things about things I, frankly, do not care about (sorry everyone this is about. it isn’t you, it is me). When I am doing this, I do not want to read anymore. Like the other day, I read a stacking the shelves and the person added like ten children’s books to their shelf. Good for them but I do not want to see it. I don’t want to unfollow because I don’t want to hurt people’s follower count but I don’t want to see it. What do I do? Is it rude to unfollow even when I don’t look at their stuff anyways?

Second, WHERE ARE THE PEOPLE MY AGE?

I think it is because I usually am just reading through my reader, but I am having such a hard time finding people my age on here. Like, without telling you guys my exact age so creeps don’t get weird, I am between 18-25. I want people who are like me. I want fellow Maas and Rowling fanatics in my reader. And I know to go through tags and stuff. So I got that going for me. But, if there are any people in that age range reading this, whose blog do you follow? Can anyone just shout some people out in the comments? I am just so bored with WordPress.

Anyways, I hope this did not offend anyone. Everyone’s hustle is great. I am just a picky person. I am by no means a good blogger. I am about to post a review for Tower of Dawn which came out YEARS ago. So, it is okay to post whatever.

As always, thanks for reading,

I DID IT!!! 2 WWW’s in a row!!

YEEEEEESSSSSSSS!

I am winning at life.

If I am being honest I really did not know if I could finish Tower of Dawn in time for this post.

But guess what? I did AND I read four others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, excuse my excessive exclamations points.

So without further ado, let us get into the WWW for this week.

If you don’t know what WWW is, then why do you live under a rock? Just kidding! It is a meme and this meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of WordsAnd it involves answering the 3 Ws!

What are the three Ws you may ask?

Well, that is easy, I answer.

They are:

What am I currently reading?

I am currently reading a book I have been working on reading for THREE MONTHS now. It is Into the Wild by John Krakauer. I swear to actual everything the reader of this believes in, that I will finish it this month or I will never read again. I absolutely do not find it interesting at all and I have forgotten most of it by now. But, I am just going to power through and read it. SO hopefully this will be the last time this annoying book enters the blog. I am not even going to include a picture of it I am so mad at it.

The other two books I am reading are two books I have been very excited to read for a long time. They are:

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

Caraval Cover

Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas

One of these days I will have no more Maas books to put in these posts. That will be a sad day.

Kingdom of Ash Cover

What did I recently finish?

I read three Sonia Sanchez poem books for class. One book that is titled Love Poems is not on Goodreads. I cannot find it anywhere. The other two were We a BaddDDD People and Homegirls and Handgrenades. They were all fantastic. I kind of cheated because these were for school but oh well.

I also finished:

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas

Tower of Dawn Cover

Fun Home by Alison Bechdel

Fun Home cover

What am I reading next?

Troubled Blood by Robert Galbraith

Troubled Blood cover

AHHHHH

I might have lied about this last one. I haven’t planned what I am going to read next. I am waiting to see what I finish first I guess. Anyways, I have a post of tomorrow scheduled so follow so you can see that. It is sort of a little rant about how I am bored. So, check that out tomorrow. I am thinking my Tower of Dawn review will be up Friday. If not, sorry. I am being lazy and it is finals week next week so I am preparing for that.

Top Ten Tuesday: A Cleaning One

“Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” -That Artsy Reader Girl

This week’s theme is:

 Spring Cleaning Freebie

Now, I don’t usually get rid of books. I want my shelves to look super full when I am older. I plan to own a library. But, to do that I need to keep the books I have. I do have a bag in the bottom of my parents’ house full of old books that I do not want anymore. I am at my own house though so I couldn’t take a look.

I decided to put my spin on this and do the books I will take back to my parents’ house when I visit again. If you don’t know, my TBR books are the only books I have at my apartment so I do not re-read books and I actually read them. Every time I visit my parents’ home, I take all the books I read home with me. I only have a few so this won’t be a full ten.

The Books:

Tower of Dawn

Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares

Into the Wild by John Krakauer

The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

These are the books I have read. I am hoping to add one more to this list since I will not be returning home for another week. But, who knows, it is finals week soooo…

Anyways, I love doing these tags. They are so easy and fun. I think I post about the same books every week but, that’s okay. I promise eventually I talk about different books for months in a row.

I also like the idea of spring cleaning my bookshelves. I won’t, because I love all my books, but it is a great idea. Also, it is still raining and very cold so it does not feel like true spring at the moment.

WWW: What shall I read this week?

Okay, I am totally in a reading slump right now.

BUT

I actually finished a book this past week. So, I think that will get me snowballing into finishing the books I have started. So that means I am going to do WWW this week with hopes of it changing next week too.

So lets start WWW.  This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of WordsAnd it involves answering the 3 Ws!

What am I currently reading?

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

What did you recently finish?

Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

What are you reading next?

Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas

I got other books on my TBR list for when I am done, but I do not want to plan too much ahead. That seems to be how I get unmotivated.

Anyways, I hope this post was good. I know that a lot of my posts are super basic. I just like to share what I read and just have something to write stuff about my books too.

As always, thanks for reading,

It’s Tuesday…guess what that means

If you guessed another Top Ten Tuesday, you would be correct.

Character’s jobs you would want (for whatever reason like its cool of the boss is hot)

I had to dig deep for this one because I don’t have any of my already read books with me in my apartment.

  1. Charlie Weasley- I mean who wouldn’t want to be a dragon tamer. How fucking fun does that sound to be around dragons all day.
  2. Cormoran Strike- Being a detective sounds so cool (except for the almost dying every book part). Also, I would love to meet Robin. She is a girl boss.
  3. Severus Snape/Professor Slughorn- I would LOVE to be the potions teacher. I think I would excel at potions.
  4. Minerva McGonagall-As headmaster and transfiguration professor, I would love either position she held. Really anything in Hogwarts!
  5. Newt Scamander- I can’t remember if this is technically really a job, but caring for magical creatures sounds amazing.
  6. Celeana Sardothien- As an assassin, I think I would thrive. I am not a fan of killing people (not that I have done it), but I would love to be as badass as Celeana.

I couldn’t think of any more jobs I would love to be in. These are the ones that immediately came to my mind. They all seem so badass. I think they sound so exciting and thrilling.

But, I will definitely be staying on my career path. I am not a risk taker and all of these sound risky.

February: Where did it go?

Holy smokes.

This was literally the fastest month ever. I had no clue it was the end of the month until I woke up this morning and saw it was March.

WTF

But, I did not do a lot this month. I had no events this week. I mostly just worked on school like crazy. I went bridesmaid dress shopping for my friend’s wedding. I guess you could say that was my big event. Also, I went camping with my neighbors at their little shack in the woods. It seemed like a horror movie, but I survived. I went home and saw my besties. Also, I had a photoshoot for my club in college. I have not gotten the photos back for them. I had my roommates go on a scavenger hunt in the snow.

In terms of books, I only finished one or two. I think I finished Lucy by Jamaica Kincaid this month. I also finished Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. But, I think for March I will be better, fingers crossed.

I watched a few movies and TV shows. Some of them I did reviews on like Winx and Enola Holmes. I also watched WandaVision, but I can’t say anything about it until the last episode comes out this week.

I wrote a few posts. In the last week, I only posted once so I felt like butt. But, it’s okay. I already have a good start on March.

These are my posts for February 2021:

Go check them out if you havent already!

I think this is where I am going to end this. I like to do these posts just to make the whole month come together and have a record of what I did in a month.

Welp…

So this week was a total bust.

I had nothing to post this entire week. This post isn’t even going to be something for people to read more just me following my goal of posting once a week.

I have been having a hard time this month with my reading. I have only finished one book this month. I am currently reading three books and I just can’t seem to finish them. I also had no inspiration to write this week. So, I just needed to write something and so I am making this short post.

I could not think of anything to post this week. My normal posts of WWW and Top Ten Tuesday were a bust cause I didn’t know what to put for the topic for TTT. WWW would be the same for the past few weeks in a row. I think this weekend (hopefully but probably not) I want to just sit down and bust out a few posts to have on the back burner just in case I need them later.

I will say that I just finished Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. It was a really good book. I may or may not write a review about this. It is kind of old and was something popular when I was in middle school so I don’t think it is relevant enough to post about it anymore. But, who knows. If I cant come up with anything for next week I might.

Anyways, that is just how my week has been going. It’s been a pretty lazy month so I am trying to get back into the groove.

Enola Holmes Review

Okay, this movie was epic.

(Also, I realize that this is short and most of my movie reviews are short. I just dont review movies often. I just need fillers for the week)

I loved it a lot. It has definetly inspired me to watch the Sherlock Holmes films now.

I loved the story in this movie. It was so adventurous. I was sitting on the edge of my seat for a lot of the movie. It was really interesting to be apart of the midn process that Enola was going on. I really like mystery adventure movies like this. I do not watch a lot of them though because I am mainly a book/tv show type of gal. I dont watch a lot of movies but that is what this year is about, expanding my horizons.

I loved the casting. Helena Bonham Carter is one of my most favorite actresses in the world. I thought she did amazing. I also think Millie Bobby Brown did a fantastic job. I loved her in Stranger Things but she doesnt talk much in Stranger Things but it was fun seeing her play this role. I thought she palys the part really well. She looks similar to Sherlock and Mycroft (Henry Cavill and Sam Clafin) that it made it so belivable that she was their sister. Louis Partridge did amazing too.

I really liked the ending. I think I could guess who it was after we met that certain character but it was still a good surprise in the end. I like when I cant guess the endings so this was nice. I wasn’t too shocked but I still was out of my chair when the certain person began walking down the hallway.

I think this movie is really great. If you havent watched it yet go watch it. I love it a lot. Tell me what you think below.
